For the 2008 mtvU Woodie Awards, the network has secured a great line-up of performances including a collaboration between the much buzzed about Vampire Weekend and Chromeo for “The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance”, another collaboration between hip-hop performer Asher Roth and rap duo The Cool Kids for Roth’s “I Love College” and The Cool Kids’ popular anthem “The Delivery Man”.
These collabs join an eclectic roster of unforgettable performances by “Woodies†nominees Lykke Li, Santi (formerly known as Santogold), and All Time Low. DJ A-Trak will provide the house music all night long to keep energy high and the jams coming. A-Trak will also join Paramore, The All-American Rejects, Boys like Girls, Emmanuel Jal, Moby, Kid Sister, Debbie Harry and Mark Hoppus to present this year’s performers and awards.
The 2008 “mtvU Woodie Awards†takes place tonight, November 12, 2008 at Roseland Ballroom in New York City. The show will air on November 19, 2008 at 8pm ET on mtvU, mtvU.com and in high definition on Palladia. MTV and MTV2 will broadcast a half-hour special, “Best of the 2008 mtvU Woodie Awards†and MTV News, MTV Hits, MTV Jams and MTV Soundtrack will each premiere special presentations of the “Woodies.â€
