I see that 'Human' is one of the top ten songs of 2008, and I would like to say that it thoroughly deserves its place there. It is so catchy that it is difficult to get it out of your head. I also think that Brandon is absolutely gorgeous, definitely the best looking singer I have seen.

I've noticed a lot of people have thought that the lyric is denser, but it is definitely dancer. As he has stated in many interviews, Brandon Flowers was inspired by a Hunter S. Thompson quote which said, "America was raising a generation of dancers."

This means to say that basically, people are too afraid and complacent to step out of the routines that they have been taught, as if they were dancers. Knowing this, other lines like, "I get nervous when I see an open door," also make a little more sense.

The dropped "s" is something that Flowers has done a lot in songs like the hit "Mr. Brightside", in which he often sings, "Open up my eager eye" instead of "eyes." It's just easier for a singer to be clearer when words don't end in "s", which would create a bit of a hissing noise.

Did you ever think it's "denser" and not "dancer" ?!...
Are we (only) human or are we more complex?
What do you think?

Brandon Flowers must be one of the best songwriters in this 'day and age'. He has composed some really outstanding songs that the crowds love to singalong to. I am sure Day and Age will be a massive success. I received a card from my friend this morning, she is in Poole on a weeks break and she said that the shop that she was in was playing 'Human' and that the whole shop was dancing along to it.
