Innovator James Rutledge has created a one-off 4 hour long VHS Remix of Radiohead‘s track “Videotape”. For the time being, there are no promo copies or blog mp3s available, but the original tape has been approved and signed by all the member of the band to be auctioned off on eBay to raise money for Missing People, a charity close to Rutledge’s heart following the disappearance of his friend and former band mate, Dave Tyack in Corsica in August 2002. Tyack was tragically found dead in June 2004.
“A few years ago a good friend of mine went missing. The charity gave his family continued support during that incredibly difficult time, as they do for thousands of others each year. The service that the charity provides is vital to those left wondering what has happened to their loved ones. It is hard to imagine what it is like to have no idea where someone you love is, whether they are alive or dead…even at times like this the charity can be a lifeline.” – James Rutledge
Missing People is the UK’s only charity that works with young runaways, missing and unidentified people, their families and others who care for them. As well as actively searching for missing people and supporting those who are trying to find them, the charity offers three other services: Runaway Helpline (for young runaways), Message Home (for missing adults) and Identification (helping to resolve cases of unidentified people).
Rutledge has also remixed Bloc Party, The Kills and MGMT, all of which you can hear on his MySpace page.
