The Whigs Tour, Pen New Album

The Whigs are excited to announce they will again be supporting the Kings Of Leon on their North American tour beginning January 20th in Louisville, Kentucky before embarking on their own headlining stint in March (dates below). A highlight on the run with Kings of Leon will include a performance at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City on January 29th. Following three extensive tours at the end of 2008 with The Kooks, Kings Of Leon and Tokyo Police Club and a New Year’s Eve show with Band Of Horses, The Whigs are thrilled to return to Georgia after the MSG date to begin writing their next album.

2008 marked a very rewarding year for the Athens, GA three-piece. The band released their highly anticipated and critically acclaimed ATO Records debut, Mission Control. They spent the entire year touring the world winning over fans with their fierce intensity and showed America how explosive their live shows are with raucous performances on “The Late Show with David Letterman”, “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.
