Fret not fans of Georgie James‘ still lamenting the all-too-brief lifespan of the group. The duo’s fantastic Laura Burhenn flies on with her new solo project The Mynabirds.
The Mynabirds will debut What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood on April 27 with Saddle Creek Records.
The Mynabirds draws on gospel, soul and rock influences. In contrast to Burhenn’s previous project, Burhenn’s vocals are huskier with this project and more introspective.
The debut album features fantastic guests including These United States’Tom Hnatow, Nate Walcott of Bright Eyes and Azure Ray‘s Orenda Fink. AJ Mogis, known for his work with Monsters of Folk, Cursive and more, produces.
