Win Rolling Stones Catalog

How would you like to own the Rolling Stones catalog?
That’s right. We’re giving away a CD catalog that consists of Remastered, Sticky Fingers, Some Girls, and Jump Back (Best Of).

To win, comment and tell us what your favorite Stones album is and why. We’ll pick a winner from the answers given on Friday, June 18 at 12 p.m. CDT. You must be a US resident to enter (sorry, international readers!).

The Rolling Stones just released their second promotional video from un-released Exile on Main Street material. Be sure to check out “,” an amazing, vintage style animated story that follows the journey of the Mississippi River from source to end.
“Following the River”

And don’t forget, you can buy the newly reissued Exile on Main Street on Amazon here or Itunes here.

I would have to say my favorite Rolling Stones album is Aftermath the American version. Simply because I love to…paint it black. Close second would be Forty Licks just because that compilation contains some of my favorites from all of the stones work.

Although Aftermath is good, I am a huge fan of Exile on Main Street. It doesn't have the hit power like Aftermath (Paint it Black and Under my Thumb), instead it is a solid album from beginning to end. One that you put on, and listen to the whole album(s) (Something you don't get anymore in the Itunes era) I remember my dad playing the vinyl when I was a kid. Every time I hear songs like Sweet Virginia and Torn and Frayed, it brings me right back to hanging out in the living room with my dad. I enjoy the raw/grittyness of the album which is why I haven't bought the remastered one (I am afraid they may have cleaned it up too much).

If I knew the entire Stones catalog and could seriously pick a favorite, I wouldn't need to enter a contest to win a portion of their catalog (I own none of the albums being awarded). While I am well-versed in the music of contemporaries such as the Beatles and Kinks–who have always been more attractive to me–I have not, as yet, delved deeply into the Stones' back catalog. (I did recently order a few titles on sale for cheap, so I'm starting.) By default I'd have to say my favorite album is "Hot Rocks 1964-1971" because it's what I have and it nicely collects the highlights of those years.
