    1. Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood
    2. my favorite song of theirs is 'Sink Hole'….first DBT song I ever heard. It had me hooked after one listen and I still don't think they've put out a more rockin song since.

Favorite song is Outfit.. all you have to do is listen to the lyrics.

  • Chris Minor

Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley. My favorite DBT song is "That Man I Shot". I just love listening to it over and over again. Everything works so well together and the lyrics feel like they have genuine feeling behind them, as if Patterson had actually killed a man. Maybe he did, I don't know.

The two founders of Drive By Truckers were Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood.
Although I only have six of their albums, my favorite song by DBT has to be the opening song of A Southern Rock Opera: Graduation Days. Nothing could be a more effective introduction to the album, and the closing line- "You know it's a very long song" is so full of meaning for me, not only referring to "Free Bird" but also to the entire cycle that this song introduces. Incredible!

In case I am supposed to write it here:
      1. Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley
      2. It's hard to nail down a favorite because the DBT is my favorite band that ever existed. The first song I heard was Sinkhole, which prompted me to immediately purchace Decoration Day, which is in a tie with Southern Rock Opera for my favorite album. When I got it, it was hard to get past the first song, The Deeper In, cause it gave me goosebumps. Man, I love Outfit, but now that Jason's gone, you gotta see him to hear that. Tornadoes gives me goosebumps. Of course, Let there be rock. Damn, I love Dead Drunk and Naked. My text ringtone is Bulldozers and Dirt and my ringtone is 18 Wheels of Love. But I think my all time favorite song may be Zip City. When I'm down, I put my ipod on "repeat" and crank it. BTW – Road tripping to Memphis to see them this Friday! And working with ATO to hang posters for the Memphis and KC shows.

Was up til two am writing "At Crossroads KC @ Grinders with The Henry Clay People Sunday September 26, Doors at 7" over and over again. Will be hanging the posters this afternoon and evening. Just in case that helps – I am dedicated to this band! The first time I met Patterson, I was so awestruck I could not speak – I knew I was in the presence of greatness. Gave Shonna a massage on the tour bus, and Cooley was gentleman enough to walk me to my car. I'm sure they wouldn't remember me from 2004, but I'll never forget that night. Thanks for this opportunity!

YES! For some reason I hadn't purchased tickets yet, I hope I win.

Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley were the founders of DBT!

And I have a TON of favorite songs, but right off the top of my head I think "Let There be Rock" really sums up how I feel about this band.

The song talks about some of the trials and tribulations of growing up and going to some of your first defining concerts. And it talks a lot about just having fun! And rocking as a part of life!

    Thanks!

    2. Tornadoes off of Dirty South. Love the guitars at the beginning and it sounds great when I roll down my windows and crank it up when driving home from work!

  • Matt Magruder

    1. Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood.

    2. Puttin People on the Moon. For me it embodies the Truckers' music. Southern, heartbreaking, defiant. It ain't pretty, but it's life.

Carl Perkins' Cadillac is my favorite song becuse of the history at Sun records.

    • Larry Luper

Mike Cooley and patterson Hood are the DBT two co-founders. And carl perkns' cadillac is my favorite DBT song because of the memories of SUN and Stax records.

Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley founded DBT. Right now, my fave song is "Daddy Learned to Fly" from "The Big To-Do." Not only does it rock, but it makes me think of my wife, whose father died when she was a young girl.

  • Sherman Breneman

Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley. Sweet Annette- it is a perfect song, beautiful in every way. Can'y wait for the show.
