Kansas City can be a challenging city to make dance, but Joel Thomas Zimmerman was up to the challenge. Who is this champion? He’s actually the ubiquitous DJ spotted in big mouse ears at this year’s VMAs, major festivals and other national events.

The performer, best known as Deadmau5, brought his throbbing jams to Kansas City’s Uptown. The venue was littered in hot, sweaty, dancing people wielding glow sticks during Deadmau5′s own impressive light show.
