This is probably one of the most difficult shows that I’ve had to review. In a good way.
Evan Weiss (Into It. Over It.) is probably my favorite person to see perform. He has a great stage presence and always gets the crowd involved. He took suggestions from the audience and actually followed through with playing them.
Between songs he briefly talked about the song. Like how his bike got stolen then the guy put it on Craigslist, like an idiot. Or about getting drunk and trying to find a mechanical bull, and another about getting sucker punched by a skinhead. Then, of course, about best friends.
Moving Mountains started off strong, with a big, full sound. It sounded like hundreds of people playing instead of the four that were. I honestly have no idea what their setlist was.
Guitarist Frank Graniero, was extremely energetic and fun to watch the entire set. And vocalist Greg Dunn‘s voice filled the whole jackpot with ease.
I ended up catching both of these guys at SXSW this week, and needless to say they are very consistent with being awesome.
