The Vaccines, one of the most hotly tipped English bands for success in 2011, have released a new music video for their track, “If You Wanna.” They were described by the Guardian‘s Paul Lester as “like the Drums if they were more influenced by the Jesus and Mary Chain than the Smiths.”
“If You Wanna” will appear on the London band’s debut album, What Did You Expect from the Vaccines?, expected to drop in May on Columbia Records. If you’re interested in getting your hands on some Vaccines tuneage now, their 3-song eponymous EP is available in digital format, with a 10″ vinyl to be released on 7″ on March 15. And if you happen to be at South by Southwest this year, you can catch them there as well.

Get Up Kids‘ new video for “Automatic” shakes things up at the car wash.
The video features a sleeping child in a driverless car going through an automatic car wash. Reality’s lines get blurred and wavy in the wash and suddenly the child’s eyes burst open to a wave of colors and oils swirling on the windshield.
Unlike most music videos, the band doesn’t appear in this video and in another twist from the norm, this song features Jim Suptic on lead vocals rather than Matt Pryor.
You can check out the full video below. The band is currently on tour and will be returning to their hometown on March 13 at the Bottleneck. Full dates can be found here.

Fenech-Soler is the latest English electropop band to make the leap of releasing their debut stateside, scheduled for later this year, along with an accompanying North American tour. The Kings Cliffe band’s next single out in the UK, “Demons,” will be released on February 7 and is the second single off their 2010 self-titled debut album.
A good friend turned me on to them last year, and after having heard about their support slots with White Lies, Kelis and Delphic on tour, I definitely wanted to keep these guys on my radar. You should too.

London indie folk pop outfit Noah and the Whale have just released the promo video for “L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.”
The track is from their forthcoming third album, Last Night on Earth, to be released on March 7 on Young and Lost Club in the UK (we’re not sure about the US release date as of yet). The tune is classic Noah and the Whale – primary singer/songwriter Charlie Fink‘s fragile yet life-affirming vocals backed back equally impressive folk-tinged pop instrumentation.
If you live in Los Angeles, New York City, or Toronto, you’re in luck: the band will be making appearances in those cities in the second half of March.
Tour Dates
Mar 15 – Troubadour / Los Angeles
Mar 21-22 – Bowery Ballroom / New York City
Mar 24 – Mod Club / Toronto

Terrible Things, the new project from Fred Mascherino (The Color Fred, ex-Taking Back Sunday) just released a video for their rocking single “Revolution.
The video, directed by David Brodsky, features Scout and Lily Mascherino having a tea party while the band plays in a burning dollhouse. The talented kids take over as the band by the end.
You might recognize the video concept from the album cover for the self-titled LP.

London post-punk rockers White Lies digitally released the first single from their forthcoming second album, Ritual, last month. Called “Bigger Than Us,” it’s got all the sweeping grandeur of “To Lose My Life” and “Farewell to the Fairground” that you remember and love. Below is the seriously bizarre video for the song – this is definitely one that is going to leave you scratching your head. Has the apocalypse come? Was there an accident in a chocolate factory? You tell us.
Ritual will drop on January 18, 2011 in the U.S. The band previewed the album in London on November 22. Excitingly, they will be playing four dates in North America early in the new year – I hope they’ll add more soon.
Tour Dates
Jan 22 – Neumo’s / Seattle
Jan 24 – Troubadour / Los Angeles
Jan 27 – Highline Ballroom / New York City
Jan 29 – Mod Club / Toronto
