In an interesting approach to contests, Seal is hosting a Myspace Karaoke Contest for a chance to win tickets to see him perform live in concert! All entrants have to do is record their own version of one of the following Seal songs off his brand new album Soul:
- “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World”
- “Here I Am (Come and Take Me)”
One grand prize winner will win two tickets to the Seal concert of their choice, two round-trip tickets to the city where the concert will take place, and complimentary hotel accommodations. 10 second prize winners will win two tickets to a Seal concert of their choice. 20 third prize winners will receive a copy of Seal’s new CD Soul, available now through Warner Music Group. Enter here.

What are your doing on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 8pm? DVR that Top Chef episode for the evening and head on out to Brooklyn’s Studio B to get your Indie Rock Karaoke on!
Apparently, New York Magazine has a thing for goodass music since their past events have featured full sets from the likes of Les Savy Fav, Islands, Grizzly Bear, The National, and José González. Well, this time they’re teaming up host Andrew WK with a full set by Ted Leo & The Pharmacists all in the name of karaoke on the indie rock tip. And who doesn’t want the chance to “party hard” with Mr. WK while rocking out to the always enjoyable Ted Leo?
Tickets are only $20 and come with a one-year subscription to New York Magazine. Oh, plus 1 hour of complimentary cocktails courtesy of Cape North Vodka (yes, you read right). These events tend to sell out rather quickly, so do yourself a solid and buy your tickets today. See you there!
