ACL announces lineup; tickets onsale now

As the annual returns to Austin this year for its 10th anniversary, they promise a big filled with the hottest current acts and some major alums.

This year’s lineup boasts acts such as Stevie Wonder, , Kanye West, , , Fleet Foxes, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Nas & Damian “Jr Gong” Marley and Cee Lo. You can see the full lineup below.

This year’s festival is set for September 16-18. Tickets are already available, here.

Lollapalooza is celebrating its 20th anniversary and as promised, the recently announced delivers some pretty hefty acts. 

Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse, , and A Perfect Circle will headline the annual event in Grant Park from August 5-7, 2011.

If you missed Death From Above 1979‘s Coachella reunion, Lolla gives fans another chance. There’s also many other classic acts such as The Cars to up and comers The Naked and Famous. You can see the rest of the announced lineup below:

Kanrocksas reveals lineup

New camping music has revealed the details of its and location.

The festival will feature headliners and at the Kansas Speedway. Eminem will headline Friday and Muse will be performing Saturday.

Also performing will be , , , Jack’s Mannequin, , , , , , , and .

The event is 5-6, 2011. The organizers say even more bands will be added to the festival.

New Kansas music fest Kanrocksas coming August 5-6

Midwestern music lovers will have a decision to make 5: Kansas or Illinois?

Most people know that is happening August 5-7 in , Ill., but this year it will have a little competition. Those looking to travel a little less, deal with less extreme-sized crowds and perhaps save a bit on ticket costs might want to look to Kansas…

A new music has announced it is coming to on August 5-6. The festival is and it promises to bring over 20 national acts to the .

The and other details about the festival are expected to be announced April 25 and judging on its proximity to Lollapalooza, don’t be surprised if there is quite some overlap on the artists – this is good news for Kansas Citians. Hopefully, we’ll see some locals join those national acts in that announcement.

So far, Kanrocksas only has a sparse Facebook page and website here, but keep an eye out for more updates. Organizers and venue are also currently unknown.

Lollapalooza using trivia game to help reveal lineup, chance to win tickets

Lollapalooza 2011 is due to announce its in just a few days on April 26, but before they do, they’re having a little fun.

Some of the headliners – , and – have been previously announced, but now is giving fans a chance to guess more of the lineup through a .

The game asks new trivia questions daily and some of the questions unlock clues. For example, one of the clues given reads: “Name aside, her skies are looking very blue these days.” Lolla fan sleuths have decoded this to mean would be performing this year.

The game also gives you a chance to a flyaway, hotel and tickets for two. There will also be ticket giveaways daily until the lineup is revealed.

, Das Racist and The Thermals brought the house down at the free Sasquatch Launch Party at the Showbox at the Market last night, where the lineup to the now four-day festival would be announced.

Put on by Livenation and Sasquatch creator Adam Zacks, the launch party was MC’d by Comedian Todd Barry, who kept the crowd entertained between sets with dry wit and some fake teaser headliners.

“If you love me now, you’ll love when I play a set between headliners Elvis Presley and the Beatles, and tickets are only $7!” Barry proclaimed sarcastically to the less-than-attentive crowd. But I guess that’s what you get when you have a free show.

After Mad Rad and Das Racist played their sets, the lineup was announced in a video like previous years, which was played twice over, most likely so people could get a second look because they were freaking out too much over .

Bands announced for Middle of the Map Fest

’s debut Kansas City festival, , has announced its lineup. Local greats such as join with national acts such as Two Door Cinema Club, and  .

The festival is in the historic Westport area on both April 8 and 9.

Taking place within the music venues of The Record Bar, The Beaumont Club, The Union and The Riot Room, festival goers will be given access to four different musical choices. Tickets can be purchased on day to day basis ($20 for either Friday only access or Saturday only access) or both days for a mere 5 additional dollars, of $25 total.Tickets can be purchased here.
