Joseph Arthur will be touring North America this Summer and Fall in support of his new albumThe Graduation Ceremony. Performing solo with sound loops and painting live onstage, Arthur has been known to create “a dynamic swirl of noise that somehow appears magically around him” (NPR) and “emotional (but tuneful) exorcisms” (Entertainment Weekly). Tour stops include the Pearl Jam 20 Festival (Sept. 3 & 4), Austin City Limits (Sept. 18) and an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (July 20).

Armed with fist-pumping energy and pop hooks sure to garner massive sing-a-longs, Chicago’s The Frantic are poised to bridge the gap between the punk of Rancid and the pop of Fall Out Boy. Below is a the official video for “Blackout Brigade,’ the newest single from their recently released self-titled EP.
After debuting “Nice Guys,” the second single off their upcoming albumBarbara, on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 Program, We Are Scientists have now released the video and cover art for the “Nice Guys” single. The video, which can be now seen at The Sun online, features Keith Murray racing through suburban city streets on a child’s scooter, and eating pavement just as much. And it also includes some recognizably misheard lyrics scrolling across the screen, which is also a testament to the Scientists’ strong sarcastic sense of humor. Instead of “If you’re the nice guy, act like the nice guy,” the closed captioning says, “Act like the night sky, act like the night sky.”
The video is only available at The Sun’s website, but as soon as it’s uploaded to Youtube, we’ll be sure to include it right here at PopWreckoning.
The cover art, both nostalgic and a bit nonsensical, is characteristic of We Are Scientists’ relationship with their fans, and their fans’ overwhelming love for them. The dolls featured on the cover were actually made and given to the Scientists by a friend of mine, Adrian Stone.
“Nice Guys” will be officially released on June 7, and Barbara will be released on June 14.
And if you can’t wait to see the boys on tour, they won’t be touring regularly in the U.S. until at least the fall, but they will be hitting up several festivals and smaller gigs in Europe this summer.

Talented London rock/pop trio Stages of Dan, who PopWreckoning featured as a Hidden Talent in July, have filmed a music video for their boppy tune “Gary”. Check out the crazy video that has the guys hamming it up in Soho locations of the Yo Sushi! chain. Personally, I think it’s hilarious. I love sushi on conveyor belts too, so they couldn’t really go wrong here.
On April 14th, Metricwill release Fantasies, their 4th studio full-length. You can watch the video and download the mp3 for the record’s first single, “Help I’m Alive”. Metric will hit the road in June in support of Fantasies.

So, to be 100% totally honest, I stopped listening to the Offspring after Americana. But today, the guys have released a new music video for since “Kristy, Are You Doing Okay?” and I kind of like it.
MySpace Music proudly presented the global premiere of iconic alternative rock bandSmashing Pumpkins‘ new music video for their latest single “G.L.O.W.” “G.L.O.W” was released by the Smashing Pumpkins and marks the first time a band has recorded a new song exclusively for the Guitar Hero® franchise which was released afterward.
The band is in the midst of a North American tour tour celebrating their 20th anniversary, playing two night stands (with different set lists for each night) in most of the cities on the tour route.
