Title Fight will be streaming their newest release Shed for the next 24-hours on Alternative Press.

They will be on the AP Tour this year, alongside Four Year Strong, Gallows, The Swellers and Sharks. Title Fight has been chosen for issue #280 out in November, promoting the upcoming tour. There will also be a subscriber’s only issue featuring members from all AP Tour bands, including Title Fight’s own Jamie Rhoden.

Bands at SXSW found themselves performing everywhere from traditional venues to bicycle shops, but perhaps the most unique and special performances were at Austin’s Central Presbyterian Church. The non-traditional concert setting provided some the best acoustics music lovers could find…not to mention a nice reprieve from the Texas heat.

Glasser, Neon Trees, James Blake and Cults were just a few of the bands invited to perform at the church. Also performing there was Kansas City band The Republic Tigers. The Chop Shop band had been busy in the studio recording new material, but for concertgoers at Central Presbyterian, they performed several of these new tunes live.

ITunes was there recording the Thursday SXSW performance and you can now download live versions of “Somethin’ Fierce,” Merrymake It With Me,” “Manny Feathers” and “Kingsly.” Just click here to download the live Republic Tigers EP.

Cincinnati’s The Seedy Seeds are hitting up SXSW this week, but they’ll continue their Coast-to-Coast tour immediately after the festival. They’ll be in Lawrence, Kan. on April 5 at the Replay. 

For those unfamiliar with the brainy band’s music it’s lo-fi folk electro indie pop. In other words, they sound like The Books meets Midlake. They have a wide variety of instruments from banjo to accordion to toy keyboards.

According to the band’s Facebook, their influences include “squaredancing, beards and 4square.” If you still don’t get what they’re like from that, then you should probably just listen to the track below. It’s the lead single and title track from their new album Verb Noun.

Local singer-songwriter Jenny Carr is as seasoned as local artists come. With stops fronting the bands The Afternoons and The Waiting List, as well as playing bass for the like of The Sunday Paper, Lights and Sirens and Anvil Chorus, the road leading Jenny Carr to the release of Maybe Definitely Really For Sure has been as winding as they come. However, the growth experience along the way can be heard clearly in the lines of her debut studio album which you can hear in its entirety here.

In addition to the full stream, Carr has opted to release a digital version of the album with a “name your own price option.”  This way a buyer can choose to donate whatever proceeds he or she believe seems fair while also helping provide funds that support local music. The name your own price option will only be in place for a limited time before rocketing back up to the minimum of $5 for a digital copy.

Compact Discs, which were released at Carr’s cd release party December 16th at the Czar Bar, will also be available for purchase on the site for those who demand physical copies. Their cost will be $9 before shipping. They can also be purchased at any of Jenny Carr’s upcoming shows to avoid shipping costs.

One of the hottest and unique-sounding English bands of the moment, Everything Everything, played a special orchestral gig Wednesday night (December 15) at London’s Union Chapel. Called “the Man Alive Ensemble Show,” it has to be one of the first gigs of its kind, as there was a special iPhone / iPad app developed for the performance, allowing fans to interact with each other and send questions to the band before the actual show last week, and those with the app could view the show in real time from their electronic devices.

However, if you’re like me and don’t have an iPhone, the group also smartly set a website so anyone with internet access could watch the show as well. Man Alive, the band’s debut album, was released in late August in the UK on Geffen Records and I’m sure it’ll appear with an official release on this side of the Atlantic in short order. This is definitely a band you’ll want to keep your eye on.

This was the last gig of the year for the Manchester-based band – Jonathan Higgs (lead vocals / guitar), Alex Robertshaw (guitar), Jeremy Pritchard (bass), and Michael Spearman (drums) – and featured themselves playing their debut album in its entirety with a 16-piece orchestra. The show will be archived and available to stream for the next 3 months. The vintage indie pop of Denver duo Tennis has been a treat for anyone who has been following the spurts of 7″ released by them. “Marathon” has already made its web-rounds, but now Tennis has a new track to tickle your senses: “Take Me Somewhere.”

Stream “Take Me Somewhere” off the upcoming Cape Dory here. It’s the first track on record.

Cape Dory is the debut full-length from Tennis due out on Fat Possum on January 18, 2011. The band is currently touring in support of the release.

Li(f)e pairs open, honest lyrics with an atmospheric to rock musical backings. Francis worked with a variety of artists such as Death Cab for Cutie‘s Chris Walla, Calexico and DeVotchKa to help bring about Li(f)e.
