Chester French, moniker for the duo of DA Wallach and Maxwell Drummey, have been getting tons of press lately including a feature in Nylon, coincidence that Drummey’s girlfriend just became a columnist there? Regardless, we think they’re pretty rad and are excited for their debut EP, She Loves Everybody, to drop (digitally on Nov. 11th and physically the next week). Any band discovered by Pharrell Williams (the Neptunes and N.E.R.D.) has to be worth mention.

Chester French is worth mention for their pop sensibility and smooth melodies. The guys are headed out on tour this month with Matisyahu on the west coast, so catch ‘em live and see what all the buzz is about.

Val Emmich recently released Little Daggers through bluhammock music and just performed his first single “Get On With It” on “Ugly Betty” this week. Emmich, an actor/musician, has also cast in the recurring character role of Jesse on “Ugly Betty” playing Betty’s neighbor, a musician (what a stretch) and her new love interest! It’s hard to resist this gorgeous Jersey boy and his sexy vocals. Fall in love yourself with “Get On With It”.

Super sweet pop rock-ish duo The Love Willows, recently had “Strut My Stuff” featured on an episode of “The Real World”, this past season as well as on various other MTV shows. It’s no surprise MTV is eating up the ecclectic sugarcoated goodness that singer Hope Partlow and guitarist/vocalist Ryan Wilson are dishing out. Partlow’s vocals are akin to Letter To Cleo‘s Kay Hanley and the pair’s songs are wildly catchy, all about every aspect of young love: wanting it; having it; falling in and out of it. Fall in love yourself with their quirky pop jams.

Recent Flameshovel signee Lukestar just made their stateside debut at CMJ to the delight of audiences who already knew all of the words to their songs! You shouldn’t be surprised to learn that these fun-lovng Norwegians write great pop songs that are hook-filled and stick with you. The band is touring the US this spring, and will be at SXSW as well. Two for the price of none. Listen now, thank us later.
